On 20^th May 2023, Mars enters Leo at 16h31 BST

Mars’ move from Cancer to Leo shifts the focus from family, tribe and home to self-expression and creativity. Mars shows us how we fight. It tells us about our goals and how we go about achieving them. In Cancer it was cautious and imaginative. In Leo we become much more vocal and direct. Now, it’s about us. 

This ingress will impact you especially if you have planets in Scorpio or Aries or in the first degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo. Scorpio, Aquarius)

Over the last week Mars has steadily been approaching an opposition to Pluto in Aquarius. You may have felt this tension mounting. This perfects today and both are involved in a challenging aspect to Jupiter in Taurus. This is powerful and potentially transformative energy but there is resistance. Resistance may manifest in the form of finances or could arise from our desire to remain (or become) rooted and stable (Taurus). 

In the struggle for change and transformation there is the question of personal agency. How much power do we actually have? How can we express and achieve our desires in the face of powerful social pressure and the larger group?

Mars stays in Leo until 10^th July. This is a warm, fiery sign with an intuitive vision of what needs to be done and here Mars acts with courage and honesty. BUT it demands recognition and attention to operate at its best. If it’s not allowed to express itself Mars in Leo becomes sulky and petulant, the warmth and generosity turned inwards to petulance and spite.  

So, as summer approaches, give yourself permission to express your creativity and to be direct and honest about your desires. This is a time to put the focus on you.
