Monday, 10^th July at 12.40 BST Mars, our planet of energy and drive, enters Virgo.

Mars in Virgo is pragmatic and unlikely to produce passionate displays. This is not a Mars that will charge off, sword in hand. People with this placement get what they want by thinking things through and doing the research. When the time comes, they will have all the information they could ever want on how to achieve their goal or beat the enemy. They are happy to avoid the limelight and work well under cover so would probably make great spies.

So, with Mars now moving through Virgo, our power and energy will be directed towards practical tasks and solutions. We might decide to clear out the cellar – Virgo loves to put things in order. Or to chop and neatly stack wood ready for the winter – Virgo also likes to be prepared.

This is a time for new initiatives directed towards managing and organising our daily lives. 

Virgo’s affinity with nature, health and natural medicine means this could be a good time to start a new health regime or a diet using organic produce.

As critical of itself as it can be of others, Mars in Virgo will find it hard to put its foot on the brake, there is always one more thing left to organise or sort out.

Mars in this sign works hard, aiming always for perfection and can have a tendency to exhaust itself, so try to spend time immersed in nature to replenish your energy while Mars travels through Virgo. Aim to stay on task, too, Mars here often has several projects on the go and may find it difficult to finish any of them.

Virgo is ruled by Mercury so there are elements adaptability and changeability depending where Mercury is placed. Right now, Mercury is about to enter Leo which will add a more consistent background energy. However, when Mercury joins Mars in Virgo from the end of July until 28^th August, things will get more frantic. Hopefully the more stable energy of Jupiter in Taurus will lend us some staying power during this hot summer period.

On the plus side, this will be a great time for any writing project, as well as more practical and organisational tasks. Mars and Mercury in Virgo will be paying attention to detail and aiming to do the very best they can. 

Husband @chrisburns_art has Mars in Virgo disposited (ruled) by a very practically inclined Mercury in Taurus. During the last twenty years he has single-handedly renovated an entire chateau and set up an organic farm in Nepal. Unsurprisingly, he has a good dose of Pisces compassion and creativity in there too!
