This Harvest Moon in Pisces is a compassionate, emotional and imaginative Moon which seeks to escape from tiresome practicality, from the daily grind of living in the mundane world. It longs to submerge itself in the watery depths of the sea to find peace and union with the divine. 

The Sun in Virgo is busy across the sky keeping the Pisces Moon engaged and present, reminding it that there is still lots to be done and it has to get up in the morning.

This may be the culmination of a cycle but the time for complete surrender has not yet arrived. In fact, as Virgo knows, you probably still need to do the paperwork.

Saturn, beside the Moon in Pisces is also making efforts with structure and boundaries. If it’s compassion you’re after (says Saturn) then let’s do something useful, not just dissolve into dreams. In this way, perhaps the Full Moon tension can become creative and/or helpful (Virgo will love that).

So, how can you transform the surge of emotion into something worthwhile? Perhaps by making something beautiful or by offering practical compassion; hospital visiting or taking garden produce to a neighbour in need? You have options. 

The Virgo Sun opposing the Pisces Moon loves ritual and allows us to discriminate. It might suggest a daily practice – yoga, meditation, prayer or service of some kind. Mindful practice, all faiths agree, is the way to the Pisces longing for the divine. Or perhaps to your personal soul, which, in the end, amounts to the same thing.

This Pisces Moon completes the Zodiacal Full Moon cycle. Next month we begin again with Aries. Look back at how far you have come in this year and decide on your future path. What do you need to let go of? What practical structures must you put in place to begin the next phase? This is the time to decide.

This promises to be a stunningly beautiful, soulful Full Moon, so if you have the opportunity to watch it rise, then do so.
