Mars enters Sagittarius at 10h15 UT Friday 24th November 2023

Today, Mars, planet of drive and energy, joins the Sagittarius party for a week of positivity before Mercury decamps to realistic Capricorn next Friday and we start thinking more practically again.

So, make the most of it. Embrace the vision, the honesty, the travel opportunities and the possibilities of extending your horizons both mentally and physically during this fiery week.

Saturn hovers in Pisces waiting to curb the Martian energy with the challenge of realism and boundaries, but this Mars is up to the job and already possesses an underlying streak of determination through Sag-ruler Jupiter which is sitting firmly in Taurus.

Still, this is definitely now a more flexible and optimistic Mars – less stubbornly fixed and more interested in the bigger picture. Potentially, all this Sagittarius optimism could culminate in something interesting and visionary being negotiated around the Full Moon on Monday, with much-needed responsibility added by the aspects to Saturn and detail concretised on Friday when Mercury enters Capricorn.

But Sagittarius is a Mutable sign; joy and anger flare quickly with Mars here and there is a distinct lack of stability. People with this placement don’t waste time sulking, they simply move on. This is restless, sociable energy, and it’s hard not to be inspired by the visionary quality of Mars in this sign. But this isn’t strategic or even necessarily long term; it’s about following your gut feeling. And note, staying power isn’t the Sagittarius forte nor its role.

The plus side is the vibrant energy and while you may have to duck while the arrows are flying but at least you won’t have to put up with the sustained sulk.
