New Moon at 20 degrees 40’ Aquarius is challenged by Uranus in Taurus. This suggests a desire to free oneself from a situation that has become entrenched. 

It won’t be easy but the need for change is powerful.

It’s assisted by a natural empathy between the Moon and Uranus, a mutual understanding; the Moon is exalted in Taurus and Uranus is in rulership in Aquarius. 

The Sun, in its fall here, is less happy and is seeking to express its originality and uniqueness within the group. It has much to contribute, it just needs to work on being a team player.

So, we are confronted with the linked challenges of freedom and self-expression as we begin this new Lunar cycle. Perhaps we need to let go of our obsession with security (Taurus) and trust to the universe. 

Life has many cycles and it could be time to prepare for a new one, remembering that there is always a sacrifice to be made, something to be left behind. Uranus in Taurus is about uprooting. It speaks to fundamental change to the stability and certainty of our lives..

With Aquarius and Uranus we must forge our own path, always a little on the outside, detached, independent, original and never quite as materially secure as we were. This is the price we pay for our freedom.
