Total Eclipse of the Heart

Bonnie Tyler – Total Eclipse of the Heart 🩷

First released in 1983, this great classic which all Boomers and Millennials know every word of, tops the charts again – on a major Solar Eclipse, according to CBS News. 💫

The lyrics are every bit as powerful as the eclipse itself and the astrology is fascinating. 🌟

Firstly, the Sun is a symbol of the heart and this was Total Solar Eclipse. ☀☀️

We don’t have a timed birth chart for Bonnie Tyler but her North Node – arguably a destiny point – is at 13 degrees Pisces, the exact degree of Mars, eclipse ruler, at the moment of the eclipse.

Neptune is also drawing attention to itself. Amongst other things (compassion, imagination etc.,), Neptune is about yearning and the desire to merge totally with the beloved, almost on a spiritual level – which is exactly what this song is about. 🪐

Currently at 28 deg Pisces it makes a perfect sextile to Tyler’s natal Mercury – planet of communication – in Taurus which speaks to the sensuality of the music and Tyler’s deep-throated voice. ⚡️

The eclipse South Node at 15 deg Libra conjoins Bonnie Tyler’s Neptune at 16 deg Libra. And, on the first release of the song – 11th Feb 1983 in the UK and 12th June 1983 in the US – Neptune was at 28 deg Sagittarius and so exactly square the Solar Eclipse Neptune. 🪐

Neptune maintained its position by turning retrograde between the two dates. ☀️

It’s fun when astrology works in such an obvious way. 😄
