Sun enters Taurus 19th April 2024 at 15h UTC

This is my sister, Jennie. She has four planets in Taurus including the Sun and Jupiter. She spends most of winter dressed entirely in cashmere looking warm, cosy and absolutely stunning. Being a Taurus, she is also very sensible with money, however, so most of her luxurious wardrobe consists of ‘lucky finds’ picked up in the sales. 

When you enter her home, you are immediately struck by its delicious perfume – scented candles and diffusers are in every room. This is a woman who understands and honours the power of the senses and who enjoys being alive in the material world.

She loves art and music and is a welcoming host. Her home decorated in a muted pastel palette which soothes the senses. She works in the financial sector (or course!), although in training rather than accounting. Her Ascendant is in Sagittarius which is connected to teaching and learning, so this makes sense. 

Her children – two beautiful daughters – are naturally her pride and joy and are fiercely protected and perhaps just a little indulged. 

Sure, she can be stubborn, possessive, cantankerous and resistant to change – all the bull-like qualities – but if you’re in trouble there is no one braver or more loyal. It’s best not to cross her, however, her anger is not something you ever want to encounter. She will forgive and overlook (maybe not forget) – until finally she is pushed too far and there is no going back.

Taurus is the most fixed of the Fixed signs and the most enduring. My sister shares her Sun sign with David Attenborough and with our late Queen, Elizabeth II. Its qualities of endurance mean Taureans are often long-lived.

Taurus sometimes gets bad press for being slow or lazy or stubborn, or for having fixed ideas which are hard to shift (which they sometimes do) but remember, these people are earth-based and Venus-ruled. They are of this world. Their gift is to understand desire and the pleasure that comes from simply being alive in a strong body on this beautiful planet.
