Jupiter conjuncts Uranus at 21 deg 49’ Taurus at 02.27 UTC on 21^st April 2024

This momentous conjunction (coming together) of our planet of expansion, Jupiter, and our planet of radical change, Uranus, is probably the most important astrological event of the year. Expect the unexpected!

It’s happening in Taurus which is about our bodies, resources, finances and our material world. So, this conjunction speaks to what we have, what we value and how we use it.

Our material world has altered since Uranus moved into Taurus in 2018; the pandemic, war, climate catastrophes and a growth in food insecurity. We are being forced to confront a new version of reality. 

Now it will be conjoined by Jupiter which expands what it touches. Jupiter, however, is in search of meaning and faith. So what sense can we make of the new situation? What deeper meaning is being brought to our consciousness? 

Jupiter and Uranus come together every 14 years. Taurus hasn’t hosted their meeting since May 1941 – the time of the London Blitz and Rudolf Hess’ rogue parachute drop into Scotland without Hitler’s knowledge, which action earned him a life sentence in Spandau prison, Berlin. 

What parallels might we draw with events today? Trump – equally audacious? The wars in the Middle East and the Ukraine?

At other times in history, this conjunction has been linked to scientific (Uranus) breakthroughs and the expansion of our world (Jupiter). On 20th July 1969 Jupiter/Uranus were exactly conjunct at 0 deg 40’ Libra. This coincided with the Apollo 11 Moon landing which took place at 20h17 UTC. Only hours earlier the Moon itself had joined the planets, before sailing on past.

The meeting of these two planets kicks off a new 14 year cycle. Like all beginnings, this is a seed moment, full of potential which we’ll need to nurture if its to come to fruition.

It should bring unexpected change and opportunity to the area of your chart in which it falls (see below). And if you have planets or angles around 21-22 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius), hold onto your seats and try to enjoy the ride!
