Venus enters Taurus on 29th April 2024 at 12h31 UT
Mars enters Aries on 30th April 2024 at 16h33 UT
April concludes with Venus, planet of peace, value and desire, and Mars, planet of will power and assertiveness, both moving into signs they rule.
When planets are in their own signs they are powerful and able to express their energy in a direct and clear way. It’s their space and they make the rules.
In Taurus, Venus expresses her earthy sensuality, her sound financial judgement and appreciates the beauty and abundance of the planet she lives on. This is a receptive energy with qualities of loyalty, patience and determination. The danger of this Venus placement is stubbornness and resistance to change.
Mars in Aries is direct and forthright, identifying his goals and powering towards them without hesitation. This is an active and outgoing energy with strong leadership ability. The danger here is impetuousness and impatience. Mars in Aries can be one-pointed, spear-like, failing to take others into account.
Potentially the most complicated day is 30th when Venus squares up to Pluto, planet of power and transformation, while Mars and the Moon are supported by it. Relationships maybe challenging – or passionate! – and it could be difficult to contain our urge to get on with things.
But patience and persistence remain important. We must find a way to combine our impulse to push ahead at all costs with our ongoing need for material security.
This Venus and Mars combination have the potential to combine well in the birth chart; Mars in Aries offers direction and leadership; Venus in Taurus provides stability, persistence and an appreciation of beauty.
Palmoma Picasso, born 19th April 1949, is a good example. She has the addition of the Sun and the North Node in Aries. Her powerful personality is reflected in her bold and original jewellery designs for Tiffany & Co.
Her signature perfume, ‘Paloma’ she describes as being for ‘strong women like myself’. This sounds like warrior Venus who understands the inherent power of the feminine archetype. She is known for her red lipstick, which she apparently began wearing at the age of six. Red also features in the packaging of her perfumes. It is, of course, the colour of Mars.
Luxurious jewellery and expensive scent are expressions of her strong, sensual Venus, as is her excellent business sense and regular appearance on the ‘World’s Best-Dressed list’, while her fierce ambition and leadership qualities are resonant of Aries Mars.
