Mercury zooms into Gemini at 8.36 BST on 3rd June 2024

Mercury in its own sign and travelling direct is speedy and communicative. So speedy, in fact, that we only have a couple of weeks to enjoy the energy before it splashes into watery Cancer on 17th June.

This is Mercury at its busiest and most excitable. It’s super versatile and hyper sociable. It’s all about communication and flexibility. Everything is possible – in theory at least.

Chatting, gossiping, playing and young people all fall within Mercury’s realm. There is something of the Puer Aeternus, the eternal child, about Mercury in Gemini, and there is often something Peter-Pan-like about people with this placement natally.

They also make great writers and journalists as they are fast, interested in everything and brilliant at making connections.

However, with Gemini there are always two; the upbeat sociable twin we love to party with, but also (often) the less certain, more anxious twin who can be prone to bouts of anxiety or depression.

This can be a frazzled, agitated energy so build rest periods into your busy routine during these couple of weeks. If possible use walks in nature or meditation to bring you back to your core centre.

After skipping through the first degree of Gemini on 3rd June, our planet of communication and thought trines Pluto on 4th at breakfast time and is conjunct Jupiter in time for elevenses.

Both these contacts add speed and intensity to the already hyper-mercurial nature of this energy. If you have things to get done, things to write or think, people to see or business to do, this is the time to make them happen.

This is not a time for finesse, or the bigger picture; this energy is all about staying local and focussing on connections. It’s a great time to write, lecture, or simply get things done.
