Mars enters Taurus at 05.35 BST on 9th June 2024
Mars in Taurus lacks the fiery implusiveness and blinkered bravery of Mars in Aries. In fact, our planet of driving energy is traditionally in its detriment in this Venus-ruled sign.
However, what it lacks in ardour it makes up for with loyalty, endurance, determination and persistence.
There is an underlying flexibility and versatility, however, as Venus is still in Gemini. This will be needed as in entering Taurus, Mars immediately challenges Pluto in Aquarius. This standoff is most acute on 11th June.
This signifies that our personal driving energy, which is aiming to push steadily onward with its projects, is confronted with a block in the shape of imperative, archetypal insistence on radical change and transformation.
It will take all the adaptability and ingenuity of Venus and her friends in Gemini to find a way through this.
There are advantages to the shift of Mars into Taurus, however. We appreciate nature more and our focus moves to our financial security and the requirements of our material existence. We become more aware of ourselves and express our driving energy as fully embodied entities in our world.
Mars in Taurus progresses slowly, steadily and unwaveringly towards its destination. It is the tortoise to the Aries hare and may emerge victorious for the same reason – dogged persistence.
In an argument this Mars energy can become blind obstinacy. If you are trying to oppose Taurus Mars you had better to look for another way round the mountain because they are unlikely to shift, ever.
People with this placement are very slow to anger but the outburst – when it happens – will be volcanic and leave devastation in its wake.
So, Mars entering Taurus signifies a time to dig your heels in, to knuckle down and get on with it. The stage was set in Aries, now you have to plough steadily forward and finish what you started.
Set yourself for a six-week slog as things probably won’t lighten up until 20th July when Mars moves into Gemini.
