Mercury turns direct

Mercury turns direct at 21 deg 24’ Leo on 28th August 2024 at 22h14 BST

Our planet of thought and communication pauses in Leo and turns direct. Communications should now begin to improve and we may start to get answers to emails and letters that we thought were lost in the ether.

Mercury in Leo is about self-expression and the big picture. Our thought processes are quite rightly still focussed on what we need or want from a situation, or on what we are personally trying to create.

Leo has Fixed-sign determination and Mercury here is unlikely to let any issues go. Neither will he take kindly to being ignored or brushed aside. In Leo we insist on being heard.

So, if we have spent the last few weeks working through problems and overcoming obstacles we might now hope to get some answers or at least to see a way forward.

Or it may be that a period of pause, revision or experimentation has come to an end and we’re ready to continue with the process of creation.

However, the path ahead still isn’t entirely clear. Uranus turns retrograde on 1st September and Pluto returns briefly to Capricorn on 2nd for its last hurrah in that sign for around 248 years. It will want to make its presence felt in the realms of business, property and social structures. This is the last fling of the old guard before Pluto moves definitively into Aquarius. It could feel like the point of no return is imminent.

A New Moon in Virgo on 3rd might bring in new ideas, a new approach or even a new beginning.

And the challenge from Uranus on 7th could throw in a curve ball and require us to make a decision, so that, when Mercury moves back into Virgo on 9th September, we’ll be ready to start filling in details and managing the path forward.
