Lunar Eclipse in Pisces

Full Moon and partial Lunar Eclipse at 25deg 40’ Pisces on 18th September at 03.43 BST

Eclipses happen on New and Full Moons (lunations) around every six months. And they always come in pairs. They occur when the lunations are close to the Nodes where the path of the Sun and Moon cross.

Nodes are thought to link to the path of destiny in some way. Because of this, eclipses are considered as super-charged Full and New Moons; powerful symbols of the beginning and ending of life-cycles.

This is the first eclipse in the new Pisces series, so it’s worth paying special attention to what’s happening in your life right now. This time may contain seeds which will continue to play out right through until the last eclipse on this axis in February 2027.

If you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) or angles around 25 degrees of the Mutable signs of Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces then you may feel this eclipse especially powerfully.

Full Moons often involve decisions. That moment you decide ‘enough’. So this could be the moment when you review an area of your life and decide to bring it to a close.

Or it could be a ‘harvest’ moment, when you reap the benefits of something you’ve been working towards.

This Lunar Eclipse suggests an ending or decision relating to the Virgo/Pisces axis. This is known as the service axis.

It’s about helping in practical (Virgo) and compassionate (Pisces) ways.

It’s also about order and management (Virgo) opposed to chaos and the idea of letting things flow (Pisces).

It’s about health and physical self-care (Virgo) as opposed to spiritual development. (Pisces)

Both sides of the opposition are equally important as together they form a whole. The challenge is to integrate them.

The involvement of Neptune intensifies the spiritual vibe. There may be themes of compassion. or sacrifice. Or themes of addiction or film & media – all very Neptunian.

Check which house the eclipse falls in in your chart to see which area of life will be involved.

1st: it’s to do with you and how you approach the world versus (7th) your partner.

2nd: personal resources and values versus (8th) shared resources and shared values.

3rd: community and neighbourhood or brothers and sisters versus (9th) long journeys, finding meaning and faith, higher learning.

4th: home, family, the past, your roots, your private self, perhaps your father, opposed to (10th) your career and public life, your mother.

5th: self-expression, children and where you find joy versus (11th) hopes and wishes, friends, groups, how you interact with society in general.

6th; your daily life and your health versus (12th) spirituality and the sacrifices you make for others.

Following the eclipse, on 19th, the Sun trines Uranus suggesting a breakthrough of some kind may be possible. Although it probably won’t be completely resolved until Uranus recrosses the 27 degrees Taurus.

I actually feel a few things maybe resolved around May next year, but that’s just a personal thought.
