Jupiter stations retrograde at 21deg 20’Gemini, at 08h04 BST on 9th October 2024

Always so bright in the heavens, Jupiter will now appear to track back across the sky from our viewpoint on earth until it stations direct on 4th February 2025.

Jupiter is our planet of wisdom, faith, belief, long journeys, higher learning and opportunity. As it pauses in Gemini it may feel like the promise of growth and development that seemed so certain to materialise has come to nothing. 

This may be especially true if you have planets or angles around 21 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces). Or if you have Sagittarius or Pisces Sun, Moon or Rising.

We make plans but the universe sees things differently. Jupiter invites us to trust, to have faith. To set our eyes on the distant horizon and fix them there – even when it may feel like it’s getting further away instead of closer.

This is time to pause, to take a breath and to try and take a broader perspective. Retrogrades are always times for turning down the noise and going within. 

And it could be that we have been prevented from making a decision that was not in our best interests or which didn’t fit with the our destiny or role on this planet.

This retrograde period gives us an opportunity to reflect again on who we are and what we believe in. It is a chance to work on ourselves and to expand inwardly before we move forward in a way that may be more in tune with meaningful long-term growth. This time is about understanding our journey.

Between now and 4th February 2025 when Jupiter stations direct at 11 degrees Gemini, our planet of expansion will move steadily back across the middle decan of the sign especially activating degrees 11 – 21. 

But even if you don’t have planets here, this retrograde is important for all of us. What do we think? What holds true meaning for us? Perhaps through journalling or just pausing in the social whirl during this time, we may get a little bit closer to understanding what it means to be us.
