The Moon is powerful and exalted in this Fixed Earth sign.

Taurus is concerned with our physical existence in this material world. It speaks to our senses, our security, our finances and our property. There can be a tendency to sneer at Taurus for being insufficiently ‘spiritual’ but that misses the point.

Evolution takes place here and now in this world. Being grounded and present in our bodies is a fundamental part of all esoteric teachings. It is in this moment, on this planet, that we evolve through our attitudes, our actions and our responses.

With this mind, this Taurus Full Moon becomes more critical as it sits with Uranus, planet of sudden change and unexpected curveballs. The Moon opposes the Scorpio Sun with its sensitivity, emotional depth, penetrating understanding and its tendency for upheaval and profound transformation.

There may be a feeling of clinging on to something known and solid with the Moon and Sun in Fixed signs. But the Full Moon is the culmination of a cycle and something will have to shift or be let go of in order to move forward.

Across the Taurus/Scorpio axis this could be something we are deeply attached to. Possibly ideas, values or even ways of approaching something if not actual material things.

Uranus may well throw in something unexpected and shatter what we thought was safe. Neptune in the mix adds a dollop of compassion and spirituality.

Clues to the nature of the change may be found in the awkward relationship between Moon ruler Venus and Sun ruler Mars. Mars in Leo is focussing on his own wants and needs and what he can bring to the party, while Venus in Capricorn is acutely aware of her responsibilities and the limitations imposed by society and the situation in which she finds herself.

This may be a new opportunity to reframe our world view and develop a new – perhaps more spiritual? – perspective. In essence, this is a chance to grow. Even if it doesn’t feel like it right now…
