19th November 2024 at 20h30 UT, Pluto, Lord of the Underworld enters Aquarius where it stays until March 2043
Pluto has been grinding back and forth across the boundary of Capricorn and Aquarius for over a year. Now it’s in Aquarius to stay. Think back to 23rd March 2023 when Pluto first entered the sign. What themes were in our lives back then – personally and globally? These are stories that may continue to resonate through the two decades to come.
Pluto in Aquarius is about ideological and personal freedom. It represents the power of concentrated thought. This is a detached, impersonal, forward-looking sign, humane and faithful by nature, motivated by ideas and ideals and interested in humanity as a whole and the future generally.
The Uranus side of Aquarius can be revolutionary and evolutionary. It is objectively kind and treats all things as equal. It is neither emotional or compassionate but is interested in truth and, importantly, freedom.
But Saturn is also co-ruler so we still have structures and boundaries to engage with – or break down. Aquarius is about the collective.
None of this is cuddly. Astrologer Kim Farley talked of the ‘slow road to sudden change’. Pluto, planet of power and transformation in Aquarius suggests profound changes to our ideals and the way we think and operate as a ‘human group’.
What planets do you have in Aquarius? Which house has Aquarius on the cusp? These are the areas which are about to be transformed. All planets changing signs give a boost or focus to whatever that energy and sign represents for you and Pluto is a heavyweight so the boost will be important.
Elon Musk has Mars and the North Node in Aquarius in 8th house. Mars rules 10th and the Midheaven. This suggests transformation of his public image and potentially – this is Pluto – considerably more power. Mars in 8th in Aquarius is futuristic; about the drive to transform shared values, ideals – and technologies – at a profound level. The 8th is also about shared money and resources. He certainly taps into those.
This Plutonian shift is ongoing and it’s important to remember that although we might seem powerless, Aquarius, more than any other sign, is about the collective. How act and how we respond to events and actually does matter. Leo opposes Aquarius so the question is always about what we, as individuals, can bring to the wider group.
