Mercury turns retrograde at 22 deg 40’ Sagittarius at 02h42 on 26th November 2024

Mercury, planet of communication, thought and travel turns retrograde (again!) and stays that way until 15th December. This time it’s in Sagittarius, sign of adventure, meaning, faith and long journeys.

It’s especially important for those with planets or angles around 22 degrees or the Mutable signs – Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.

Travel disruptions are classic with Mercury retrograde, as are lost emails or documents. If you’re travelling abroad between now and 15th December allow plenty of extra time for the journey. Check and double check you have everything you need.

Delay signing contracts until 15th December if possible.

And it’s a good idea to be especially careful about what you say during this period. Sagittarius often blurts out what it sees without much filter. Careless words could be misinterpreted.

On the plus side, Mercury retrograde is a great time for or doing all the re stuff – rethinking, reviewing, reorganising, reworking. Also reuniting and reconnecting with old friends.

However much we sigh for this retrograde, planetary movements are not random. Mercury is specifically in Sagittarius, the sign in which we find faith, meaning and optimism.

Much has happened this year on a global level, and for many of us much has happened on a personal level too. Powerful eclipses may have left us reeling and disoriented, struggling to come to grips with new versions of our worlds.

This Mercury Retrograde is an opportunity to take a step back and take the time to process everything, to rekindle our optimism and our faith.

It is a time to review and reflect on the past few months and try to understand how the narratives of our lives have changed, and what this might mean for the next chapter.

This is a time to dig deep and rediscover our inner fire so we can move more confidently into 2025.
