Sun enters Aquarius at 20h00 UT on 19th January 2025

Aquarius is perhaps the most truly intellectual sign of the Zodiac and approaches things through the thinking faculty. It’s not always comfortable with the murky world of emotion. Expect sympathy, but not empathy.

Aquarius can be detached and impersonal. It’s all about humanity as a whole and asks what it can offer the global community. 

It’s a Fixed sign so people with several planets in Aquarius can be entrenched in their opinions – which  might be fairly wacky and futuristic. Sometimes it feels like they’re being contrary for the sake of it. Friends are very important to them and, randomly, they often have a special affinity with dogs. 🐕 🐕‍🦺

These are independent people who make loyal friends and lovers – as long as you don’t cramp their slightly weird style. They’ll be there when you need them and if they’re not, they’ll be somewhere outside in the open air (probably walking their dogs), so just give them a call.

Above anything else, Aquarians know how to be friends.

🪐 The sign is ruled by Saturn (intent on maintaining structures) and Uranus (determined to tear them down). Saturn is currently in Pisces which adds an underlying empathy and perhaps the commitment to a dream. It might also might require the odd sacrifice from that very independent Aquarian. 

Uranus is currently in Taurus so is focused on our material world – our planet, our bodies and our resources. It is insisting, through radical change, that we understand these differently.

Of course, where Aquarius is these days, we find Pluto, digging deep to re-mould human kind and overturn our old visions of how we should live.

Pluto is about regeneration, clearing out and renewing and in Aquarius it’s doing this with society and with groups. 

🌞 The Sun reaches Pluto at 1 degree 43 Aquarius on Tuesday, 21st Jan around lunchtime in Europe. This is the first time these have come together in this sign. On 20th Jan 2024 the annual Sun/Pluto conjunction took place at 29 deg 59’ Capricorn as if making a huge statement that this was the end of something big.

On that day the North Node was at 19 deg Aries. Now Chiron occupies that degree and is squared by Mercury suggesting the possibility of challenging news, perhaps around the newly orchestrated peace deal in the Middle East. 

In our personal lives how this impacts us will depend where it falls in our charts. It could still suggest a complicated or painful discussion as we dig deeply (Pluto/Sun) into how we can be freer, more independent or more committed to our ideals.

And there may be a challenge to give up something that is dear to us in order to achieve healing, change or transformation at a deeper level.
