In Cancer our fighting energy goes all out to protect family, tribe and everything we know and love. This is about cautiously, emotionally, moving forward with our roots anchored in the past.

The long winter of preparation while Mars was retrograde has finally ended. The strategy is in place and we are ready to take that first small step.

Mars begins his onward journey having just come out of a friendly trine aspect with Mercury suggesting that initial discussions or plans have gone pretty well.

The Moon, ruling Cancer-Mars, is across the sky in Capricorn suggesting the challenge of putting structures around our goals and ideas.

Mars in Cancer is both imaginative and self-protective. It proceeds with care but also with a certain determination. Our resolve, or the situation/project, is likely to strengthen on 8th March when it receives benevolent rays from the Sun and is joined by the Moon, strong in her own sign.

Just like Jupiter earlier in the month, Mars makes a slow start, this is not a project to be rushed; our planet of drive and direction will be hanging around 17 degrees Cancer for a couple of weeks until finally crossing into the 18th degree on 9th March.

If you have planets or angles around 17 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) you could find that projects which have been incubating or under discussion are very slowly beginning to take shape and edge forward but plans put in place are not out of the woods yet.

The stellium of planets hanging out in Pisces are changeable which might mean we need to shift or adapt along the way – and we’re still feeling emotional.

Nothing is yet fixed or certain and set backs are possible, but the possibilities of success for coming projects seem to be in place and will become much clearer around 4th April when Mars trines Saturn.
