Solar Eclipse at exactly 9 degrees Aries at 10h58 UT on 29th March 2025

If you’ve been feeling just a bit all over the place these last couple of weeks then you’re not alone. This period of time is unique and unstable. Retrograde energies have been demanding reflection and reassessment. 

You may have been feeling bursts of optimism and joy followed by doubt and panic as you rethink everything – yet again – following the latest curveball from the heavens.  

By the way, it’s global. And it hasn’t finished. This weekend we have the New Moon and Solar Eclipse at 9 degrees Aries. Eclipses symbolise major endings and major new beginnings and this one is full of energy!

This eclipse is the last in the Aries/Libra cycle that began on 20th April 2023. So, although this is the beginning of a new lunar cycle, it is a new cycle which concludes an old story, one that began a couple of years ago. 

Think back, if you can, to what came into your life back then as this may be winding up now as something new comes into play. Check out where in you chart 9 degrees Aries falls and this is where the action is probably playing out.

Tighten your seat belts if you have planets or angles around 9 degrees of any of the Cardinal signs – Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn as this eclipse might be a trigger for something.

If you have planets or angles at 9 degrees of the other Fire signs – Leo and Sagittarius – this eclipse will make a flowing aspect and might give you the boost you have been waiting for. 

9 degrees Aries has been triggered quite a bit recently as both Mercury and Venus turned retrograde exactly here, so this could be something else, another chapter, in this theme that has been persistently in your life for a while.

What comes in with this New Moon & Eclipse could be challenging but is probably necessary – an important ending which carries with it a new beginning of some kind – a goal or something to fight for maybe. A new direction. Aries loves a challenge best of all.

But nothing comes for free and there are always things we must let go of in order to move on. This could be an actual material thing, a job, a relationship, a way of being, an ideal… Difficult, perhaps, but necessary to activate the next part of your life.

The theme of endings and beginning is one that continues throughout this year as the cusp between Pisces and Aries is activated again and again – by Venus and Mercury, and by Neptune and Saturn. The ending of some dreams and the beginning of new ones. 

Mars, eclipse ruler, is still in family-oriented Cancer and exactly square Chiron, suggesting that something in this eclipse could be painful – or, conversely, healing. 

This weekend feels very contradictory with the endings and dissolution symbolised by Mercury, Venus and Neptune in Pisces, contrasting with the Aries energy of the eclipse and then Neptune moving into Aries on Sunday 30th. 

Hold on tight during the coming weeks and try to see events as and necessary for the next chapter in your life, even though it may initially all be difficult.
