Full Moon in Libra – Hurting and Healing

Full Moon at 23 deg 20 Libra at 01h22 UT on 13th April 2025

There is always a theme of completion and release with the Full Moon and this time especially, there is the sense of something moving on.

This release probably does not come without a measure of pain and frustration. Both Sun and Moon have crossed Chiron, the mythological centaur, lying sensitive and wounded in his cave – and we may have suffered with him.

There may still be pain, but with the Full Moon something is now shifting and we are trying to find balance and objectivity, perhaps with something of a reset in our close relationships

Mars in family-oriented Cancer is challenging the Sun/Moon opposition and suggests that the shift may be to do with something that we care about deeply.

Perhaps, on this lunation more than others, we understand that we have experienced what it means to be human and our suffering has drawn us down more deeply into our life on earth and towards fellowship with the rest of humanity who suffer along with us.

The Sun in Aries is about our goals and what we are prepared to fight for. Sitting alongside Chiron there is the suggestion that maybe, this time, we didn’t win, the Will of the universe did not coincide with our individual Will. We are challenged to understand this and to find peace and balance through our relationships and through a sense of objectivity.

The drama wrought through the Sun, Moon, Mars and Chiron is potentially visceral and raw. Yet with Neptune in Aries now too, there may be a lack of clarity. However, it’s important to remember that Chiron offers the potential for healing as well as pain and this Full Moon may be the moment to make a conscious decision to move on.

The Moon’s current ruler, Venus, is stationing and about to turn direct in Pisces where she is powerful and inclusive, with intuitive understanding of human emotion and connectedness. She rules desires, relationships, values, finances – the things you really want and in Pisces, dream about…

She’s close to Saturn so things aren’t easy, and we are reminded that, as ever, there is material reality to deal with, imposing boundaries but also structures around our dreams and desires.

Venus makes a positive aspect to Mars so there is a sense of feeling stronger – and with Saturn, wiser – and of not giving up on stuff, on life. With this Full Moon, we believe that we can do it. Whatever it is for us.

The area of life impacted by this powerful lunation will depend where it falls in our charts and it will feel especially powerful if we have planets or angles between 22 – 24 degrees of the Cardinal signs – Aries, Cancer Libra, Capricorn.
