New Moon at 6 degrees 5’ Gemini at 04h02 UTC+1 on 27th May 2025

As the Moon begins its new cycle at 6 degrees Gemini, everything becomes faster and more intense. 

Gemini has lots of nervous energy. It’s a sign that needs to know what’s happening, it needs to be up to date with the news, the gossip – more than up-to-date if possible, it likes to be ahead of the curve. 

This is a sociable sign and our Mercury ruled-friends usually have a good head for business. Gemini processes the world through the thinking faculty. It joins dots and doesn’t miss detail.

Gemini ‘season’ began when the Sun crossed into the sign on 20^th May, and on 26^th it intensified when Mercury,  planet of communication and thought, joined it there and is now comfortably at home.  

However, it is now, with the New Moon that the season really gets underway. This changeable, adaptable New Moon has Mercury beside it so it is busy, really busy. Busy with thinking and busy with doing, there’s not much room for emotion here but lots of flexibility.

It receives a power boost from retrograde Pluto in Aquarius and this fixity offers Gemini a weightiness, a seriousness that it can sometimes lack. The evening of 27^th is a great time to address issues that have been bubbling away under the surface for a while. The airy, thinking energy with Pluto’s depth ensures you’ll get to the bottom of it.

This New Moon is a great time for beginning a writing project or maybe launching that business, as Saturn is offering a steadying hand. 

Jupiter is also in the Gemini mix, however, which may increase the risk of burn out and make it hard to see the big picture. It could be difficult to see where all the talk and action is actually heading – and, by the way, what does it all mean? 

So, for the moment we have to enjoy the buzz, trust the process and do what needs doing, and just hope that things become clearer around the Full Moon on 11^th June when Jupiter, planet of expansion, will be in family-oriented Cancer.
