Jupiter enters Cancer, 9^th June 2025 at 22h02 UTC +1

Jupiter, planet of expansion and growth moves into Cancer where it’s comfortable and its energies of growth and expansion can express themselves fully in the areas of home, family and tribe. This is a caring sign that will be concerned about how you feel. 

This is a major shift of energy. Jupiter is one of the planets (the other is Saturn) which pertains directly to how the individual relates to the society in which they live. These planets are not just about our personal drives, they also operate as trends and energies in the realm of the collective. 

Jupiter symbolises our faith, morals and ethics, those things which help to give coherence to society. Saturn is concerned with stabilising social structures and establishing boundaries.

So, Jupiter moving into Cancer shifts our sense of what’s important and what has meaning from the dispersive, analytical energy of Gemini that gathers information, communicates and makes connections, to the realm of the past, family and tribe.

Jupiter is exalted in Cancer and this is a much calmer energy than we’ve been experiencing while our planet of growth moved through Gemini. 

In Cancer, Jupiter expands ideals of caring, imagination and feeling. It finds meaning and growth through nurturing and connecting with its tribe. This may be our ancestral family line, but it can also be the people who share our dreams, our ideals or our faith. Jupiter here seeks to hunker down and protect those it loves.

Cancer is a Cardinal sign, however, a sign of leadership, and should not be underestimated. It might not be brash or showy but it is more than capable of getting things done  – think Elon Musk (or not!). It is capable of secrecy and of realising powerful dreams.

Ruled by the Moon, Cancer tends to fluctuate. It can be moody and emotional. It is sensitive and rooted in themes of the past. 

As Jupiter moves into the Cancer, it creates a bond of reception with the Moon in Sagittarius, suggesting that this shift begins a journey around Cancerian themes. There is now a connection between how we feel and how we want to grow and expand.

Jupiter in Cancer will be protective of itself, its own interests and everything to do with those it loves. It may even be a bit clingy or over protective. It will understand how you feel.

Cancer is usually it’s pretty good with money, so this year is a good time to pay close attention to your finances and save for that rainy day.

So, we’re making a leap in the realms of feeling and compassion but it’s not universal, this is for those we feel belong to our tribe.

Cancer dislikes confrontation, preferring to approach things indirectly – crabwise.

The hitch with all this is that Jupiter moves almost immediately into its final waxing square with Saturn so the growth and abundance of this shift isn’t without challenges and reality checks. 

However, a final square can bring resolution of something that has been dragging on, so it could also be positive, although probably not easy.

Overall, this Jupiter-in-Cancer year is a good time to heal rifts or wounds around family issues, to explore where we feel we truly belong, to think seriously about finances and to embark on a creative or imaginative project that we are emotional involved in.

And Jupiter’s move into its sign of exaltation is extra positive for those with Sun, Moon or Ascendant in Sagittarius or Pisces.
