Mars enters Libra at 00h23 UTC on 7^th August 2025

Mars, our planet of driving energy, is traditionally in detriment in Libra. Here it is forced to take other people into account. It’s obliged to seek balance.

Mars is about driving forward to get what we want. In Virgo it did this through flexibility, skill, meticulous organisation, and practical solutions. 

In Libra the Mars energy becomes friendlier and more initiatory. Instead of adapting to situations, Mars in this Cardinal sign is more likely to create them, to instigate dialogues and propose compromises.

Mars in Libra seeks a solution that has considered all options. Idealism is important. Practicality less so.

Libra Mars is intellectual. It aims to get what it wants through rational argument, compromise and a good dollop of charm. Think Bill Clinton, who actually has a whole collection of planets in Libra.

Think John Lennon, who was murdered for his ideal of peace on earth. (We so need him here now).

Moving into the sign of the Scales, Mars immediately opposes Saturn and Neptune in Aries setting up a creative kite formation in our skies. The opposition asks us to take responsibility for what we do (and what we fail to do). 

We may be confronted with blocks or uncertainty but Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius give us the power and the insight to push through.

Uranus in Gemini is capable of offering flashes of inspiration or curve balls, depending how it rolls. Pluto (retrograde) is rethinking how to bring down collective structures and shift the global dynamics of power.

This kite formation is powerful and unusual. A symbol of these times. Mars in the mix with these Outer Planets, tells us that our actions, our dialogue, our ideals count.

The sky warns us not to judge lightly and to carefully consider what we fight for. And what we decide not to fight for.

With Mars in Libra, it’s time to give peace a chance.
