On Monday 26th January 2026, at 17h34 UTC, Neptune moves into Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac.
These last few weeks and months as Neptune has waded through the last degrees of Pisces may have felt heavy. We may well have felt tired, confused, lacking energy and focus. Well, it wasn’t just winter. This has been a period of global and individual uncertainty. There is the sense of an ending. We are waiting for something to end, to play itself out.
Recently, at Davos, Canadian PM Mark Carney told us; “We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition.” Astrologers have understood this for a while. This is a global shift and it will take years, of course, before we know how it will be. But it’s beginning now. Now is when we get a sense of what is emerging. Now is when we might be able to shape it. Just a little. Each one of us.
And to do this, we must pay attention. Neptune moving into Aries tells us that each individual has a part to play. Our choices and allegiances matter – even more than usual.
With Neptune’s shift we may hope to become more focussed and energised, more purposeful and goal-oriented. There may be the gradual sense of waking from dream into a sharp reality where we are compelled to act and make decisions and take positive action.
Neptune will soon be followed by Saturn, planet of material reality and our sense of responsibility. Our goal will be to build new structures, to imagine a different kind of world, individually and globally.
We may find ourselves moving away from Pisces compassion and self-sacrifice, from a desire to meditate or do drugs and alcohol in an effort to feel whole and escape our stressful material world.
We may stop ‘going with the flow’ and waiting for others to decide our fate. Our focus becomes more dynamic and pro-active. We now stop sacrificing our own desires and instead, desire to take the lead.
However, Neptune in Pisces may have offered us moments which were truly sublime, where our connection with others and with something greater than ourselves has been genuine, and guided by real compassion. These are the moments to hold onto and take with us.
A new cycle means letting go, but not of everything. The universe is a spiral. We must take what is valuable with us into the future.

Look back over these last 14 years since Neptune moved from Aquarius into Pisces. What has been the keynote of this time for you?
Perhaps you took up social work or created a charity? Maybe you’ve been drinking too much or been taking medication for something? Maybe you have spent it dancing, immersed in music or somehow connected to water? Maybe you have simply felt hopeful, living in a world of imagination, content with your dreams. These are all Pisces themes and they may now be coming to a close.
Now is the time to let go of those things that are no longer serving you. Those ideas or things or dreams that are tired and faded and give yourself permission to discard them.
This is the time for us to plant new seeds and to make ourselves ready to stand up and take action.
