New Moon at 28 degrees 27’ Pisces, 01h23 UTC, 19th March 2026
Themes of endings and beginnings continue with this New Moon in the final degrees of Pisces. Pisces is an adaptable sign that responds through feeling and this New Moon is about trusting how you feel.
Pisces is often externally referenced and may turn to others for a heads up on what to wear, how to behave or even what to think. This is not necessarily a lack of confidence, more an uncertainty around how the material world works and a desire to ‘do it right’ – superficially, at least.
This does not in the slightest mean the Piscean actually holds these views, or cares about any of it, beyond that actual moment. Pisces only cares about how it feels. And having understood this, they are unwavering – until the feeling changes.
Pisces tunes in to whatever is happening in their vicinity and often in the wider world. They have imagination, compassion and empathy. They are shape-shifters. What was true five minutes ago may not be true now.
They understand everything and offer flowers or prayers – which may, or may not be appreciated.
This Pisces New Moon is co-ruled by Jupiter, now direct and positive in tribal, family-oriented, nurturing Cancer. And by Neptune in goal-oriented Aries. With Aries ruler, Mars also in Pisces, everything returns to Jupiter, planet of hope and faith.
So, this is a New Moon of possibility. It offers the opportunity to leave behind that which has not served us and to step into tomorrow with fresh eyes and new hope. The key is to trust how we feel and go with it.
On 20th March the Sun moves into Aries and we celebrate the Spring Equinox, the annual new beginning and the first true day of Spring. This has the potential to be positive.
Mercury stands beside the North Node of destiny, also in Pisces. Mercury is about to turn direct. Direct means forward-looking, though he will tread slowly at first. Mercury is our thinking planet, ruling communication, children, business… He is flexible and unpredictable and in Pisces he communicates indirectly, through riddles and poetry.
We mustn’t push him too hard as he may slide away. So we try to take small steps initially, tiptoe maybe, towards those new beginnings we want so much. We may be able to guide Mercury’s hand towards the outcome we are hoping for.
The New Moon in Pisces is closely sextile Uranus in Taurus. This is a helpful contact which may bring surprising benefits or new information we didn’t expect. In Taurus this could relate to our physical body or to finance, resources, land and nature.
Moving away from the Sun, the New Moon enters Aries to meet Neptune and Saturn, sparking this conjunction of dreams and boundaries. With Neptune, there is always the risk it could be illusory, that it won’t turn out as we would like. But we know this already and we put the thought aside – it does not serve us.
This New Moon is the time to gather strength and to focus on hope and positive outcomes.
Set your intentions and make your wish when you see the new crescent in the sky.
