What gift do you bring to the Human Story?

Full Moon in Aquarius – 16°59’ on 9 August 2025 at 08:55 UTC+1

The Full Moon in Aquarius on 9 August 2025 illuminates the sky — and our inner world — at 16°59’ of this visionary, intellectually driven sign. As always with a Full Moon, we have an opposition — here between the Sun in Leo and the Moon in Aquarius. This asks us to balance the personal with the collective, the heart with the mind.

Leo–Aquarius: Expressing ourselves within Society

The joyful warmth of the Leo Sun invites self-expression and creativity.  Aquarius, by contrast, speaks to objectivity, social consciousness, and the idea that we are part of a larger system. This axis reminds us that we all have a unique role to play (Leo), within the greater whole (Aquarius).

This Full Moon asks us to balance our need to express our individuality while staying conscious of the broader social and global context. Who are we, not just in isolation, but herenow, and among others?

Tied in to this lunation is the Mars opposition to retrograde Saturn potentially creating delays, resistance, or internal friction. This can feel like trying to move forward with the brakes on.

Mars is also moving into opposition with retrograde Neptune, which adds a layer of uncertainty, emotional fog, or lack of clarity. Goals may feel blurred. You might feel deflated or demotivated.

These transits can create a ‘can I even be bothered?’ mood.

However, oppositions are also points of awareness and illumination. Decisions may be necessary. Something may need to be released, restructured, or accepted.

Fortunately, Mercury turns direct on 11 August, bringing clearer thinking and communication in the days that follow. Make plans but give yourself permission to review them if new information comes to light.

A Kite Formation

The tension of the oppositions takes place within a creative Kite formation involving Mars and the outer planets.

This powerful configuration offers opportunities for inspired action. Even if you’re feeling blocked or uncertain, there is an opening here to make meaningful choices. But you may need to take responsibility and be willing to put in the effort.

Cycles at Their Peak: Mars–Saturn & Mars–Neptune

This Full Moon highlights two significant Mars cycles:

The Mars–Saturn cycle, which began in April 2024 at 14° Pisces, now reaches its opposition. Reflect on what you were trying to build back then. This is a moment of reckoning, evaluation, and possibly letting go.

The Mars–Neptune cycle, which started later in April 2024 at 28° Pisces, also reaches a turning point. What dreams were you chasing? What ideal were you pursuing? This Full Moon may show you what’s still viable — and what needs to dissolve.

If you have planets or angles at 14° or 28° Pisces, this lunation could feel especially personal. You may be asked to let go of or restructure an old identity, plan, or dream in order to move forward.

Equally, those with placements around 17° of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) or 0–3° of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) may feel this energy strongly.

This is a moment for release and perhaps for decisions which change worn out visions of the future.

It may be time to rethink and realign with what is perhaps a new reality and to remember that we all have a role to play in the human story.
