28th June, Mars enters Leo; 29th June, Mercury Retrograde in Cancer; 30th June; Full Moon in Capricorn, Jupiter enters Leo.

The skies are shifting at the end of June as the Full Moon perfects in Capricorn. Capricorn speaks to the future, but this Full Moon is linked with the past.

On 28th, Mars stepped from Taurus to Gemini moving from action and goals around business and finance, our bodies or our planet, to more sociable, more versatile and adaptable Gemini with its focus on writing, communication – and siblings. 

On 29th, Mercury eschewed a connection with benevolent Jupiter and instead turned back to review emotional issues around nurturing, family, dreams and belonging. 

And on 30th comes the Full Moon opposing the Sun across the ‘Axis of Incarnation’. This is about emotional give and take, about the process of moving from child to adult in a complicated world.

So, where have we come from and where are we going? Who are we becoming? Who do we hope to be?

This Moon knows that our future is predicated on our past. The decisions we have made, the people we have been, the place we have come from… all these inevitably circumscribe the decisions and choices we now face.

So we must ask, ‘How do our dreams shape up against the cold reality of our material world?’

Capricorn knows – and has always been obliged to understand – what the material cost might be. ‘The work/life balance’, our ‘life choices’, these are phrases often and easily thrown into a pot and stirred round. Now in the light of this Moon, we see what they actually mean, how they have brought us to this place. We must face them realistically and decide how we can best shape the next phase of our lives.

Meanwhile, not so far from the Sun, Jupiter grinds into the last minutes of the final, anaretic degree of Cancer, leading us to understand that this, for the moment at least, is where meaning lies; in belonging and in nurturing others, in our creativity, our dreams and imagination.

Gemini Mars sitting square the Nodes speaks of options and the need to choose. The Moon wants action but Mars is flexible, gathering information and starting conversations. Ruler Mercury is retrograde and there are things to be considered before taking the next step.

The subsequent shift of Jupiter from Cancer to Leo just hours later may initially seem harsh, pulling us, as it does, into a jolting realisation of ourselves as authentic individuals. 

And almost immediately, Jupiter meets Chiron in Taurus and we are confronted by our physical vulnerability and the fragility of our material security and that of our planet. We are small people in a big universe.

So, as the Full Moon perfects in Capricorn we are called to consider what we bring to the table. What materials to we have to offer and to build with?
