Full Moon at 4deg 54 Pisces, 05h18 BST, 28th August 2026; Partial Lunar Eclipse; Mercury Cazimi 19h03 27th August 2026

Pisces is an emotional, fluctuating, chameleon-like sign that adapts and shape-shifts without thought or awareness that it’s doing so. If you can’t quite grasp who Pisces is, then that is exactly who they are. 

(And, by the way, mostly they’re not sure either).

The Full Moon follows the second Mercury cazimi of this cycle. This is when Mercury-Hermes, another character who is hard to pin down, once more sits at the heart of the Sun.

Mercury is our planet of thought and communication. In Virgo it is strong – managing, organising, searching for practical solutions. 

This cazimi could relate back to something which happened around the Mercury cazimi in Cancer on 13th July. Perhaps another stage in the story?

Or it could suggest a flash of understanding or intuition, the moment when something suddenly comes together.

This cazimi takes place in Virgo where Mercury is in rulership, close to the South Node which brings things in from the past. It’s at the apex of a a finger of fate formation with Pluto and Uranus.

The presence of these outer planets suggests that larger patterns, bigger fish, are at work here, not everything is within our control. But Mercury is strong and empowered by the Sun. We should have room to manoeuvre and adapt – albeit within parameters prescribed by others or ongoing situations.

Mercury in Virgo has agency, but needs to proceed with care.

The Full Moon eclipse, which arrives just hours later in Pisces, suggests not everything is clear, some things may be hidden, yet to come to light.

This time is likely to be unstable with blocks and curveballs no matter which way we turn. We may feel like we are grasping at shadows. It’s an emotional time and the best we can do is to go with the flow, swim with the fish – but stay alert and engaged. Fish know how to disappear.

As with all Full Moons, there is a sense of something culminating or concluding now. A part of our lives may be finishing up, obliging us to move on and leave behind those things (situations, ideas, people, places…) which no longer serve us.

This may be a time when the points in our lives shift and we head off down a new track -unexpectedly perhaps – into the unknown.

A decision may be required. New information or new situations may suddenly present themselves. There may be opportunities to be grasped – or discarded. Uranus in the cosmic mix makes everything uncertain – and everything possible.

Moving on from the eclipse, the Moon first opposes Mercury and then squares Uranus. This suggests something about the future perhaps being different to the one we had previously envisaged. New factors are coming into play. We might not have as much control as we would like.

Imagination, trust and flexibility are essential, but we also need to sharpen our pencils and pay attention to the details. Even as we feel we are being swept along, there are things that we can manage – and we must.

Those of us with planets or angles around 3-6 degrees of the Mutable signs – Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces – will feel this eclipse most strongly.

In Moon family theory, this Full Moon is linked to the New Moon that took place at 9°40’ Pisces on 28th February 2025. Is this perhaps the culmination of something that began around that time?
